The Intelligent Games Lab
A multi-disciplinary research group studying how games can positively shape minds and society.
Welcome! The Intelligent Games Lab @ TU Dublin is a multi-disciplinary research group that explores how to design, develop and evaluate digital and non-digital games that to support learning, understand human behaviour, shape minds and the society. Our focus is on serious games and game-based learning.

Playing game is one of the oldest and more pervasive human activities; games can entertain and teach.
Games are a powerful research tool: observing how people play is a privileged way to gain insights into human behavior, decision-making and social interactions. Members of IGL have expertise in AI, machine learning, game design and cognitive science.

Our current efforts are in STEM education, developing intelligent games to support Logical and Strategical Thinking in primary schools, and evaluating game-based approaches to make education more effective and inclusive and to mitigate the effect of Math Anxiety.
